"Should I be concerned?
What can I do to sooth the pain.
Should I soothe the pain.
Am I just whining?"
Those are the questions I'm asking myself. I would ask someone here but everyone I know is just a "health club" lifters. You know pretty people making prettier bodies. I'm working on finding some local folks that are serious about real strength to buddy up to for these kind of thought tangents.
So here's what I done did. I emailed 3 real strong guys. Guys that have been at my level and surpassed me like all get out. Dennis Rogers - Steve McGranahan - Bud Jeffries. I asked them my questions and hopefully they'll respond with some great advice. So hopefully this village will help in the raising of "Big Popa" Master of Strength (double Ha!). Also I'd value any of this community's input.
Here's my quote from the trailer for Jet Li's movie Fearless. (Now you see one of the reasons Lennie is my favorite bro-in-law)
Mastering others is strength
Mastering yourself makes you fearless.

Steve emailed me the next day! Here's his response:
Benny, you have not done this for years. You are going to have pain. With bending steel and other strong man things you will have pain in places you have never thought pain could go. I hurt for three years training the body to do what I want it to do. It is not normal for the hand to bend steel. Go at this stuff slow. Very slow only bend every seven days, then each time around just add more nails. Listen to your body you know it better than anyone. It is very hard for me to tell you what you are hurting when you are there and I am here. Plus I am not a DR. I do not want to tell you sometime that is wrong. Pray, seek God, He made your body He can tell you how to train it. It worked for me.

Steve McGranahan
I'd also recommend taking glucosamine supplements for joint health, if you aren't already. I'm not a trainer, but I have a lot of joint issues and joint pain (birth defects in bone structure + serious back injuries = lots of hurt) and I am always much more comfortable on glucosamine without. I currently take the Costco brand that is glucosamine plus MSM. It is priced pretty fairly for that kind of stuff too. Just a thought.
Thanks. I alsready have that supp. I figured I needed it being on the salty side of young. Got mine at Sam's club
